A new report from WinFuture suggests the upcoming Surface Laptop 4 will come loaded with top-of-the-line hardware under the hood. The report indicates that the device will have 13-inch and 15-inch variants, just like the current model. The report also reveals that both Surface Laptop 4 models would come with Intel and AMD processors.
According to the source, the Surface Laptop 4 will get the latest-generation Intel chips. These include Intel Core i5-1145G7 and Intel Core i7-1185G7 processors, while the device’s top-end model will come with no less than 1TB of storage and 32GB of RAM.
As for AMD models, the device could feature AMD Ryzen 5 4680U and AMD Ryzen 7 4980U processors. The report, however, notes that the highest storage and RAM would be much lower on AMD versions of Surface Laptop 4 compared to Intel models. According to the cited source, the maximum amount of RAM available on AMD versions would be 16GB, while for storage, the highest you’ll be able to get is 512GB.
If the leak turns out to be accurate, then the device will come with substantial upgrades under the hood. Though Microsoft has remained somewhat tight-lipped about the Surface Laptop 4, and while this leak provides us with an early look at what changes we can expect in terms of hardware, we’re still unsure whether Microsoft has planned any design upgrades.
The Surface Pro 7+ was criticized mainly because of its large bezels, so we hope Microsoft has planned some design upgrades for the highly anticipated Surface Laptop 4.
